Supercross Racer's Upset

After the muddy conditions at the San Diego Supercross event, it is clear that a mass of riders are extremely upset.  Racers who participated in the event are complaining of extreme burning sensations and rashes, caused by a drying agent that was added to the muddy dirt.  The chemical has been identified by riders as "lime", which has not only put the riders in pain, but absolutely destroyed the bikes.  Many riders, including Ken Roczen, have spoken out about this issue on social media.

This controversy has been spreading through the media like rapid fire, and the blame is being put on Feld.  This is an absolute nightmare for privateers, as they are sidelined in this weeks riding and training due to not only the burns and rashes, but the destroyed bikes as well. It sounds like the riders are not going to let this one slide, but what can be done?

AMA has released a statement on this issue:

PICKERINGTON, Ohio—The American Motorcyclist Association is coordinating with AMA Supercross Championship promoter Feld Entertainment to identify riders and equipment that may have been affected by track conditions at the Feb. 2 event at PETCO Park in San Diego.

"The well-being of our members is a top priority of the AMA," said AMA Chief Operations Officer Jeff Massey. "AMA staff is monitoring the situation and working directly with Feld Entertainment as its representatives contact individual riders to assess the extent of the impact."

Still no word from Feld, which everyone is waiting for. Especially the privateers, who are all at a huge loss in terms of not only the bikes, but also their own well-being.  Many hoping for some sort of compensation, but who knows what will truly happen at this point.  There is talk of a lawsuit throughout social media, but of course the riders all sign some sort of consent.  What are your thoughts?
